From the Head of School - Teacher Appreciation Week

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all!

I'd like to celebrate by taking a moment to thank our faculty for the incredible job that they do on a daily basis.

Mrs. Ahmad: We celebrate Mrs. Ahmad this week for championing our Capstone Project and High School Preparation program. The care with which she knows, guides, and forms each student is an incredible part of our community. And this is on top of a stellar Latin program that is expertly scaffolded!

Mrs. Basconi: We celebrate Mrs. Basconi this week for her knowledge of music theory and for the consistent role modeling of excellence in education. Her students are lucky for not just lessons in theory, but also the formation in being a student they receive during class and in tutoring.

Mrs. Barilleaux: We celebrate Mrs. Barilleaux this week for committing herself to the expanding students' understanding of excellence to include voices like and unlike their own. Her deliberate lesson planning and thematic study unlocks amazing conversations in our student body.

Dr. Bellott: We celebrate Dr. Bellott this week for her graceful persistence with her students. She pushes each one to his best with a smile and the whole-hearted belief in their abilities.

Mrs. Brown: We celebrate Mrs. Brown this week for the impact she still holds over our community, seen in the goodness and abilities of her former students.

Mrs. Carney: We celebrate Mrs. Carney this week for her endless enthusiasm and creativity with student learning and projects. Her units of study are often literally brought to life. Moreover, there is an incredible amount of work outside of the school day that makes those lessons possible!

Dr. Chia: We celebrate Dr. Chia this week for teaching and championing the boys with changed voices. His group and individual work with them gives life to the program, proving that our former choristers are great singers.

Mrs. Gonsalves: We celebrate Mrs. Gonsalves this week for joining Saint Paul's Choir School and becoming part of our learning and teaching community so quickly. Her balance of cheer, structure, and instructional talent are much appreciated!

Mr. Hagborg: We celebrate Mr. Hagborg this week for his Music Theory classes that allow composition, collaboration, and an understanding of music through play. It is one of the most highly talked about classes among the student body, who love what they are privileged to do!

Ms. Healey: We celebrate Ms. Healey this week for her patience, organization, classroom leadership, and lesson planning. The students in grades three and four are lucky to have such a remarkable teacher at the helm.

Ms. Kang: We celebrate Ms. Kang this week for her instruction of our piano students and for her kind formation of those students in her care.

Ms. Ip: We celebrate Ms. Ip for her persistent pursuit of excellence for her students. She regularly sets a high bar and pulls out all the stops to see her students reach or exceed it.

Mr. Lee: We celebrate Mr. Lee this week for his tireless work with the choir of changed voices and his steadfast, reliable expertise and demeanor.

Mr. Malone: We celebrate Mr. Malone for his lessons rooted in student thought and practice. His math classes are full of group and independent work that builds both understanding and skill. His commitment to individual tutoring is also remarkable.

Mr. Nemec: We celebrate Mr. Nemec this week because when students are in his care, they believe they can do anything. And they know that he believes in them, too!

Ms. Pagnanelli: We celebrate Ms. Pagnanelli this week for her commitment to classical education and her ability to keep students focused on the material while building life-long study skills like annotation.

Mr. Straub: We celebrate Mr. Straub this week for building a music program borne out of mutual respect, goal-setting, and formation.

Repleatur os meum laude tua,

Mr. Moran
