New York, NY – April 5-8, 2025 – The Boys of St. Paul’s Choir School will be continuing their 2025 tour to New York City, after recent Boston-area performances with St. John’s Seminary in Brighton and St. Mary’s Parish in Holliston, MA. This next leg of the tour in NYC is significant to the school as it is the first time the choristers will be performing at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Brooklyn, and the esteemed Metropolitan Club of New York City.
The choir will begin their tour at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph with Dr. Alejandro Zuleta, Director of Music, and the Cathedral Choir for the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, April 6. The boys will be singing Josef Rheinberger’s “Ave Maria” and John Ireland’s “Ex ore innocentium”. The following day on Monday, April 7 at 1:45 PM, the choristers, directed by Mr. Brandon Straub, will present a full concert at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan. Nara Lee, Associate Director of Music, will be supporting the choir on the iconic Gallery Organ, with such selections as “In paradisum” from Faurés’ Requiem, and “Magnificat” by George Dyson. The performance is free to the public and will be livestreamed. Finally, the choristers will showcase their talents at an exclusive private event at The Metropolitan Club.
The Boys of St. Paul’s Choir School have a deep and storied history of musical excellence, having built a strong network within the Boston area. Just this year, the boys have sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for both Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 and Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt, and since 2023, the boys have also performed with the Boston Lyric Opera, the Harvard University Choir, and alongside world-renowned soloists such as Sarah Brightman. This tour serves as an opportunity to broaden their musical connections along the East Coast and especially within New York City’s vibrant sacred choral and classical music scene.

About Saint Paul’s Choir School
The Boys of St. Paul’s Choir is composed of boy choristers, educated in the European Cathedral school tradition at Saint Paul’s Choir School, singing weekly at the historic Saint Paul’s Parish of Harvard Square. The choir performs hymns, plainchant, and the very finest choral music drawn from the Church’s extensive and rich repertoire in the sublime acoustic of Saint Paul’s. In addition to a rigorous academic program, the boy choristers offer daily choral services during term time, as well as frequent concerts, international tours, and recordings. Since the founding of the Choir School in 1963 by Dr. Theodore Marier, the choir has enjoyed long-time collaborations with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Lyric Opera, especially in their 2024-2025 season, as they most recently collaborated with the BSO and BLO for Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 in October 2024 and Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt in January 2025. In 2026, the choristers are slated to sing Mahler 3 with the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
The choir school offers rolling admissions for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. If interested, please contact our Director of Admissions, Julia Janowski at jjanowski@saintpaulschoirschool.us
